Baku: President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the significant role of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in attracting investment to the Karabakh region during a joint press statement with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, APA's special correspondent reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aliyev acknowledged Uzbekistan's initial assistance in the region, highlighting the construction of the Mirzo Ulugbek school, which has a capacity for 960 students. Investments in garment production in Khankendi and the establishment of a major industrial enterprise were also attributed to Uzbekistan. Aliyev mentioned plans to continue cooperation in Karabakh and various other regions of Azerbaijan.

The President noted the inauguration or groundbreaking of over ten projects across Baku, Tashkent, and other regions, emphasizing the focus on Baku and Tashkent while acknowledging the inclusion of other areas in their cooperative efforts. Aliyev also highlighted the practical interest generated by the recent forum on interregional cooperation, which showcased the synergy between the two countries.

Aliyev expressed confidence in the clarity and substance of their action plan, which includes an investment fund with one-third of its projects already backed, alongside initiatives aimed at enhancing tourism infrastructure. He stated that these investments, amounting to billions of dollars, are made in brotherly countries with favorable investment climates.

The President attributed Shavkat Mirziyoyev's success to the reforms he implemented, creating an attractive investment environment recognized by international financial institutions and global actors. Aliyev expressed optimism for the implementation of Uzbekistan's plans and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening ties between their countries and peoples.
