Baku: A "Maritime" information system will be established, APA reports. President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree in this regard. According to the decree, the "Maritime" information system will be established to ensure the safety of maritime navigation by collecting information on vessels in the territorial waters of the Republic of Azerbaijan, providing vessels with navigation information, granting permission for the entry and departure of vessels to and from seaports and marine operations bases, as well as for the electronic preparation and registration of related documents, and maintaining the registry of seaports, marine operations bases, vessels (including vessels under construction), and bunker fuel suppliers.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the establishment of the "Maritime" information system is a significant move toward enhancing maritime safety and operational efficiency in Azerbaijan's territorial waters. The system aims to streamline the process of gathering and disseminating crucial navigation information to vessels, thereby facilitating smoother operations at seaports and marine bases.
