President Ilham Aliyev Strengthens Bilateral Ties with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on July 8. During this meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan and extended an invitation for President Ilham Aliyev to visit Jordan, emphasizing the King's appreciation for his relationship with the Azerbaijani President.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the King's greetings and extended his own greetings to the Jordanian King. He also invited King Abdullah II to visit Azerbaijan, reflecting on his past meetings with the King in both Azerbaijan and Jordan, as well as during international events.

The meeting underscored the importance of reciprocal visits and interactions at various levels in fostering relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan. The discussions highlighted the robust bilateral ties founded on principles of friendship and brotherhood. Both parties identified numerous opportunities to enhance cooperation across several sectors, including political, economic, energy, connectivity, investment, humanitarian, and others.

Moreover, the conversation covered regional issues, the prospect of future engagements, and the expansion of the intergovernmental commission and interparliamentary cooperation. They also explored the potential for tourism cooperation, including the initiation of direct regular flights between Azerbaijan and Jordan.
