Baku: Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has articulated a firm stance against colonialism, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to mutual respect and development. Addressing the founding conference of the Global South NGO Platform, President Aliyev highlighted the adverse impacts of neocolonial policies on the Global South, attributing many challenges faced by these countries to Western influences. He underscored the unacceptability of colonial practices, which have historically resulted in significant tragedies and suffering.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s dedication to non-interference in domestic affairs and respect for diverse political, cultural, ethnic, and religious systems. He advocated for active promotion of interfaith, intercivilizational, and intercultural dialogue. President Aliyev expressed a belief in collaborative efforts leading to a brighter future and a just world order, aligning with Azerbaijan’s policy foundations.
