President of Azerbaijan Hosts Italian Delegation Led by Minister Adolfo Urso in Mingachevir

Mingachevir: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Adolfo Urso, Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy of the Italian Republic, in Mingachevir. During the meeting, both leaders fondly recalled their previous encounters.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to Adolfo Urso for attending the inauguration of the ‘8 November’ Power Plant and expressed hope for the successful implementation of future joint projects. Adolfo Urso highlighted Italy’s involvement in the construction of the power plant as a testament to the strong friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Urso, recalling his multiple visits to Azerbaijan, shared his satisfaction with participating in the event and mentioned his visits to the cities of Ganja and Aghdam in 2020. President Aliyev noted that Urso was among the first high-ranking European officials to visit Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, expressing appreciation for this gesture.

President Aliyev also emphasized the extensive reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories, mentioning the inauguration of three international airports. Both leaders underscored the strategic nature of Azerbaijan-Italy relations and praised the level of political ties, highlighting the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in bolstering bilateral cooperation.

The conversation also focused on the significance of the Intergovernmental Commission and explored enhancing cooperation in energy, metallurgy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science, education, culture, and other fields. The active participation of Italian companies in the reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories was noted, along with prospects for collaboration between ‘AzerEnergy’ and ‘Ansaldo Energia’.

The meeting ended with a commemorative photo, marking another milestone in Azerbaijan-Italy relations.
