President of Azerbaijan Sends Congratulatory Letter to Turkmen Counterpart on Neutrality Anniversary

Baku: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the recognition of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, in his letter, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality status is based on the historical heritage and traditions of its peace-loving people. He noted that this status is rooted in the principles of dialogue and mutual respect, and currently plays a significant role in bolstering peace and security both regionally and globally.

President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s respect for Turkmenistan’s policy of neutrality, mentioning that Azerbaijan was a co-author of United Nations General Assembly resolutions regarding Turkmenistan’s neutrality in both 1995 and 2015. He expressed confidence that the two nations would continue their joint efforts to preserve and enhance the good traditions of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan interstate relations, which are derived from the will of their fraternal peoples, and to deepen their strategic partnership.
