Baku: President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron made a phone call to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the call took place on March 8, during which President Macron expressed his country's solidarity and support for Azerbaijan following Iran's airstrike on the nation.
President Macron also conveyed his gratitude to President Aliyev for facilitating the evacuation of French citizens from Iran through Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev, in response, expressed his appreciation for President Macron's call and the solidarity shown by France.
The discussion between the two leaders also covered the enhancement of peace in the South Caucasus region and the strengthening of Azerbaijan-France bilateral relations. Additionally, they explored potential avenues for future cooperation.
