Presidential Aide Highlights Historic Visit of Azerbaijani Delegation to Armenia

Karabakh: "The visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to Armenia was a historic event," Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said during his speech before representatives of the diplomatic corps at Karabakh University, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Hajiyev emphasized the progress being made toward peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He urged international partners to support the peace agenda and cautioned against reverting to old narratives, which he believes are counterproductive.

Hikmat Hajiyev remarked on the new status quo established in the South Caucasus, which aligns with international law and historical justice. He underscored the significance of the recent visit by the Azerbaijani delegation to Armenia, noting that the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan conducted a semi-official visit for intergovernmental discussions.

The discussions between the two countries addressed economic and trade relations, political dialogue, border delimitation, and border cooperation. Hajiyev highlighted that transit cargo delivery to Armenia through Azerbaijan is becoming a new reality.

He also mentioned that business communities from both countries are collaborating on importing certain products, contributing to broader security and stability in the region. Hajiyev concluded by noting the rapid development in Karabakh, with Khankendi gaining a new image and life.
