Baku: The resolution adopted by the European Parliament does not hold legal binding for Azerbaijan, as stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration. Hajiyev emphasized Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to ensure regional peace and security while advancing the normalization process with Armenia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hajiyev highlighted the lingering humanitarian issues resulting from the conflict, particularly the threat posed by landmines. Since 2020, over 420 Azerbaijani citizens have suffered fatalities or injuries due to mine explosions. He pointed out that the extensive planting of mines in Azerbaijani territories during the occupation continues to obstruct reconstruction efforts. Nevertheless, demining operations are actively progressing in these areas.

Hajiyev also addressed the situation concerning individuals of Armenian origin detained in Azerbaijan, affirming that these matters are resolved in accordance with legal processes, with decisions being made by judicial authorities. Furthermore, he mentioned that restoration and construction activities in the liberated territories are in line with urban development plans. Measures are being undertaken to address facilities that were constructed illegally during the occupation.
