Shusha: Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan recently inspected the bullet-riddled busts of notable Azerbaijani figures Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli in Shusha.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the President of Turkmenistan was briefed on the history of these busts during the occupation. The busts were subjected to Armenian vandalism, looted, and transported to Armenia with the intent of being melted down as scrap metal. They were rescued and returned to Azerbaijan due to the intervention of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Subsequently, they were displayed in the courtyard of the Azerbaijan National Art Museum in Baku before being reinstalled at their original locations following Shusha's liberation.
