Shusha: Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited Bulbul's House-Museum in Shusha on June 23. The visit marks a significant cultural exchange between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, highlighting the shared historical ties between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the museum visit was guided by Polad Bulbuloghlu, a member of the Milli Majlis, who provided detailed information to President Berdimuhamedov. Bulbuloghlu explained that the house, where his father, the renowned Azerbaijani singer Bulbul, was born and spent his early years, was transformed into a museum by the decision of the Executive Committee of the Shusha City People's Deputies Soviet in 1982. This transformation was initiated on the instruction of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The building underwent renovations in 1982-1983, leading to the establishment of a museum exhibition and the construction of an administrative building.

The House-Museum had to cease operations during the Armenian occupation of Shusha but was subsequently restored following the city's liberation. The restoration is part of broader efforts to revive Azerbaijan's historical and cultural monuments. A new bust of Bulbul has been placed in the courtyard as part of these efforts. Additionally, the original bust, which was damaged during the occupation, is preserved on-site, serving as a testament to the cultural losses endured during the conflict.
