Shusha: Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan visited the construction site of the new Shusha Mosque. This visit was part of an inspection to review the progress made on this significant architectural project that began in 2021.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Assistant to the President Anar Alakbarov provided a briefing to the two heads of state regarding the project's details. The mosque, once completed, is expected to stand as a modern architectural landmark in the historic city of Shusha.

The foundation stone for the mosque was laid by President Aliyev, and the design is noted for its symbolic elements. The silhouette of the mosque is shaped like the number '8', symbolizing Victory Day, and it will feature a main prayer hall, administrative facilities, and separate ablution areas for men and women. The mosque will also have twin minarets, each 73 meters high, representing the number '11', a nod to the month of Shusha's liberation.

The exterior of the mosque will display intricate geometric patterns inspired by the minarets of Shusha's historic mosque, adding to its cultural significance. The construction is supported by Pasha Holding, underscoring the collaborative efforts to restore and honor the city's heritage.
