Baku: On March 19, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev engaged in a telephone conversation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Mirziyoyev extended his congratulations to President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on the upcoming holy Ramadan and Novruz holidays, expressing his warmest wishes. President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the felicitations and reciprocated by congratulating President Mirziyoyev and the Uzbek people, wishing them prosperity and well-being.

During their discussion, the leaders highlighted the robust development of strategic allied relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. They expressed satisfaction with the progress of bilateral ties across various domains. Additionally, the presidents voiced their concerns regarding the current situation in the Middle East, underscoring the necessity of resolving tensions through political and diplomatic channels.
