Tbilisi: Azerbaijan-Georgia cooperation in the energy sector is not only based on economic interests but also reflects a shared strategic vision aimed at the stability and development of the region, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov in his speech at the 5th Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized that this strategic partnership has transcended regional borders, becoming a successful example of international cooperation. He highlighted key projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, and the Southern Gas Corridor, noting their role in transforming the geopolitical landscape and ensuring the safe delivery of energy resources to global markets.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the Southern Gas Corridor, initiated by Azerbaijan with active participation from Georgia, has become a significant component of Europe’s energy security. The number of countries importing Azerbaijani gas has risen to 14, including 10 European nations. Asadov also mentioned the ongoing collaboration in green energy, with both countries contributing to the ‘Caspian – Black Sea – Europe Green Energy Corridor’ initiative, reflecting their commitment to sustainable development principles.
