Baku: Processing of the data acquired during the survey conducted on the Garabagh field is currently ongoing, bp Azerbaijan told AZERTAC.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, an Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) seismic survey was conducted on the Garabagh field earlier this year to enhance reservoir understanding, support well planning, and optimize field development strategies. The survey began in December 2025 and was completed ahead of schedule in mid-March 2026. The processing of the data acquired during the survey is currently underway.

Following the OBN survey, work commenced in March for a High-Resolution (HR) / Ultra-High Resolution (UHR) seismic survey aimed at identifying geological hazards that could affect well integrity, as well as subsurface hazards that could impact the safe installation of a platform and other infrastructure. This survey concluded in May, and the processing of the dataset acquired during the survey is also currently ongoing.

On the ADUA block, a preliminary 2D HR seismic survey was conducted in April in water depths ranging from 20 to 40 meters, covering a small area located in the northwestern part of the ADUA block. The primary purpose of this survey was to acquire detailed subsurface data to a depth of approximately 1,500 meters to support the planning of future exploration wells. The survey aims to identify shallow geological hazards, including faults, shallow gas accumulations, and other subsurface features that could pose risks to drilling operations and well integrity.

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) document for the ADUA seismic survey was disclosed for public consultations in December 2025, with the final document receiving government approval in March of this year.
