Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has expressed confidence that progress will be made in the implementation of the International North-South Transport Corridor project in the near future, APA's Moscow bureau reports. He made the remarks at a press conference following talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Lavrov stated that there is optimism regarding the trilateral North-South Transport Corridor project. Iranian officials recently informed that the process of allocating land plots for the Rasht-Astara railway section has been completed, which had previously delayed the relevant work. Earlier this month, the heads of the Russian, Azerbaijani, and Iranian railways convened to discuss the commencement of practical work now that the land issue is resolved. Lavrov emphasized that progress is anticipated in the near future, with Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran all showing interest in the project.
