Project to Translate Azerbaijani Literature into Foreign Languages to Be Launched

Baku: In order to promote Azerbaijani literature, including Azerbaijani academic literature, and to ensure its systematic translation and dissemination into the official languages of the United Nations, Turkic languages, and other languages, the 'Azerbaijani Literature Abroad' project will be established, APA reports. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to enhance the global reach and appreciation of Azerbaijani cultural and literary contributions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this project is reflected in the 'Azerbaijani Culture - 2040' Culture Concept of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was approved by an order signed by Ilham Aliyev. The comprehensive plan aims to strategically position Azerbaijani literature on the world stage by translating and making it accessible to a wider audience.

In addition to the translation project, the 'Writers in Residence in Azerbaijan' project will also be launched. This initiative aims to develop Azerbaijan's literary environment in line with the global literary landscape. It seeks to facilitate the integration of the literary creation process into the publishing value chain and benefit from the experience of renowned foreign writers. By inviting international writers to reside in Azerbaijan, the project will foster cross-cultural literary exchanges and enhance the local literary scene.
