Prosecutor General Highlights Comprehensive Approach in Azerbaijan’s Anti-Corruption Efforts

Baku: In Azerbaijan, the fight against corruption is carried out based on a comprehensive approach, said Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev at the opening of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the United Nations Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities – the GlobE Network, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Prosecutor General noted that, along with criminal prosecution, wide-ranging measures are being implemented involving institutional reforms, public awareness, the application of digital technologies, and the participation of civil society. He highlighted the coordinating and leading role of the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Chief Anti-Corruption Office under the Prosecutor General, as mentioned in the address of President Ilham Aliyev.

The principles of transparency and the rule of law in public administration, established by the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, are being further developed under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev with a zero-tolerance approach to corruption. The political will, clear targets, and principled stance of the country’s leadership form the foundation of the results achieved in this field.

At the same time, the ‘ASAN service’ model, created in Azerbaijan in 2012 and now internationally recognized, plays an important role in preventing corruption and strengthening trust in public administration. This innovative approach is seen as an indicator of a successful state policy based on digitalization and transparency.
