“In the recent period, the spread of several videos, the sources of which are still unknown, about the killing of several Armenian military servicemen who were allegedly taken as prisoners and the insulting actions on their corpses, are almost described as the “policy of genocide” of the Azerbaijani state. As a representative of the Prosecutor General’s office, I state that Azerbaijan is a legal state. There is an immediate reaction to every video that is shared,” said Nemet Avazov, Head of the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office, at the conference on “Armenia’s war crimes against Azerbaijan in the last 30 years” organized by the Social Research Center (SRC), APA reports.

Azizov noted that a criminal case was initiated regarding these facts by Article 15 of the Criminal Code in the Prosecutor’s General Office: “Preliminary investigation of 10 criminal cases regarding these facts is underway. If, as shown in the video, the guilt of the alleged persons, military servicemen, is proven, a criminal fact is confirmed. Of course, the issue of criminal liability can be resolved. The course of the investigation cannot be affected by the statement of any state or international organization.”
