Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan consistently defends human rights, Ramesh Singh Arora, Minister of Human Rights and Minority Affairs of the Punjab Government told journalists as part of the international conference titled 'Racism and Violence Against Sikhs and Other National Minorities in India: The Reality on the Ground,' dedicated to the Indian government's repressive policies against ethnic minorities and organized by the Baku Initiative Group, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Arora emphasized the concerning human rights situation in India, particularly focusing on the challenges faced by religious minorities. He mentioned recent events reflecting the plight of Muslims in regions like Kashmir and Gujarat and highlighted the difficulties faced by Christians, noting over 700 incidents during the last Christmas season where the community was restricted in practicing their religious rituals freely.

Arora expressed appreciation to the Baku Initiative Group for organizing the conference and extended gratitude towards the executive director and the Azerbaijani people, especially media representatives. He acknowledged the media's role in supporting human rights advocacy, underscoring their significant participation as evidence of their commitment to defending these rights.
