Baku: The Baku Initiative Group (BIG) and the International Sikh Federation have called on the international community to take decisive action against violence and discrimination targeting Sikhs and other minorities in India.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the issue of mass violence against Sikhs in India in 1984, as well as the climate of impunity that has persisted for decades, was discussed at the international conference titled 'Racism and Violence Against Sikhs and Other Minorities in India: The Reality on the Ground.'

Participants of the event called for accountability for politicians and law enforcement officials involved in acts of violence, as well as justice and compensation for victims, the protection of witnesses, and the adoption of strict anti-violence legislation.

The Baku Initiative Group and the International Sikh Federation urged governments, civil society organizations, and international institutions worldwide to demonstrate solidarity with the Sikh community.
