Baku: On 11 June, the International Secretariat of TURKPA, in collaboration with the Azerbaijani Representative Office of the World Turkish Business Council (DTIK) and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Trkiye in Azerbaijan, convened a joint meeting in Baku.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event commemorated the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress and aimed to promote the cultural heritage and economic cooperation within the Turkic world. The focus was on strengthening business cooperation, economic and cultural integration, and fostering collaboration among Turkic states.

The meeting was attended by heads of diplomatic missions from Turkic states, representatives from government institutions, Turkish entrepreneurs operating in Azerbaijan, and members of non-governmental organizations. Baris Altiparmak, the DTIK representative in Azerbaijan, expressed gratitude to participants and highlighted DTIK's global presence in 90 countries, emphasizing its role in social and economic cooperation among member states aligned with the 2040 Vision of the Organization of Turkic States. He noted the evolution of the 'We are stronger together' approach of the Turkic States into a global geopolitical reality.

TURKPA Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan underscored the significance of commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress, an initiative by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and endorsed by the Heads of State of the Turkic States at the OTS Summit. Hasan highlighted the importance of the event co-organized by TURKPA, DTIK, and the Embassy of Trkiye in Azerbaijan. He emphasized TURKPA's role in fostering relations among Turkic states and its potential in advancing legislative harmonization, adopting common laws, and facilitating the ratification of decisions adopted by the Organization of Turkic States.

Ambassador of Trkiye to Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. Birol Akgn, highlighted TURKPA's contribution to strengthening cooperation among Turkic States. He noted the growing strategic significance of the Turkic world amid global geopolitical shifts and emphasized the forward-looking vision of partnership under the Organization of Turkic States framework for the twenty-first century.

Participants discussed prospects for further enhancing cooperation and strengthening ties among the Turkic States.
