Ismayilli: State and private sector funding for the Agricultural State Program in Azerbaijan is set to exceed AZN 5 billion, underscoring a significant commitment to the development of the country's agricultural sector. The announcement was made by Khalid Ahadov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for socio-economic issues, during a regional meeting for the Mountainous Shirvan economic region. The meeting was part of the framework for the 'State Program on the Development of Production and Processing Sectors of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2030.'

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Khalid Ahadov highlighted the crucial role of the private sector in the successful implementation of the State Program. He pointed out that sustainable development in agriculture relies not only on state support but also on the active participation of various private sector entities. These include farmers, agro-parks, processing enterprises, logistics companies, and providers of technology and irrigation solutions.

Ahadov emphasized that the private sector should not only function as a producer but also serve as the main participant and driving force in the agricultural value chain. He elaborated on the process, stating that farmers produce agricultural products, processing enterprises add value, and logistics and storage infrastructure help reduce losses. Exporters then play a role by bringing products to foreign markets. He noted that any disruption in this chain could hinder the transformation of production into economic value.

The program envisions mobilizing over AZN 2 billion in state funding and approximately more than AZN 3 billion from the private sector, which is essential for implementing the planned measures.
