Baku: Ramiz Mehdiyev, the former head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, will be expelled from the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Arif Rahimzade, chairman of the YAP Veterans Council, told APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rahimzade noted that relevant party bodies will hold a meeting on the matter in the coming days. Rahimzade emphasized that Mehdiyev’s membership in the party and the YAP Veterans Council is untenable. He stated, “A convicted person cannot stay in the party,” signaling a firm stance on maintaining ethical standards within the party’s ranks.
The decision to expel Mehdiyev reflects an ongoing effort by the New Azerbaijan Party to address issues of integrity and accountability among its members. The upcoming meeting of the party’s relevant bodies will formalize the decision, underscoring the party’s commitment to uphold its principles.
