Reasons for Postponement of President Ilham Aliyev’s Visit to Moscow Revealed

Moscow: We reported that President Ilham Aliyev will not attend the Victory Parade to be held in Moscow on May 9.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, several factors influenced the Azerbaijani leader’s decision to cancel his visit to Moscow. It has been highlighted that despite five months passing since the crash of the AZAL passenger plane, Russian authorities have yet to conduct operational investigative measures, nor have they identified and held accountable those responsible for the incident.

Additionally, recent confirmations indicate that cyberattacks on various Azerbaijani media resources originated from Russia. Moscow has yet to provide clarifications on this issue. Furthermore, Azerbaijani MP Azer Badamov was recently banned from entering Russia, detained at Moscow airport, and subsequently deported. The Russian authorities have not offered any substantial explanations regarding this matter.

All these factors are believed to have contributed to the postponement of President Aliyev’s visit to Moscow.
