Baku: "As part of the Vietnam Days celebrations in Baku, Baku State University (BSU) hosted a meeting that brought together a high-level Vietnamese delegation with the university's faculty and students," BSU Rector Elchin Babayev told journalists during the "Vietnam - The Melody of Identity" musical and cultural program held at the university.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Babayev stated that over 400 Vietnamese individuals have graduated from BSU, forming part of the larger community of Vietnamese alumni educated in Azerbaijan. He mentioned that several Vietnamese graduates from the university have advanced to significant roles in Vietnam, such as deputy prime minister, deputy speakers of the National Assembly, university rectors, and other notable public officials. Babayev expressed pride in their accomplishments.

The rector emphasized that the solid foundation of Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations, along with recent reciprocal visits by leaders of both nations, has generated new momentum for cooperation, especially in science, education, and research. He pointed out that universities and cultural exchanges serve as essential components in the enhancement of bilateral relations.

Babayev further underscored the increasing significance of higher education institutions in fortifying Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations. He added that cultural exchanges play a crucial role in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
