Relief Maps to Be Created Using Azerbaijan’s Satellite Imagery

Baku: At the request of the Ministry of Economy, Azercosmos is producing satellite images of the country with a resolution of 30-50 centimeters, said Anar Narimanov, head of a department at the Ministry of Economy, during the event titled “Opportunities from Space: 10 Years of Contribution of Our Space Observation to Socio-Economic Development,” APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Narimanov noted that based on these satellite images, various relief (topographic) maps of the country will be developed. These maps will not only serve the Ministry of Economy but will also become an open resource for all government institutions, public organizations, private businesses, and citizens. They will be used in the development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).
