Baku:The remains of 913 missing persons have been identified in Azerbaijan as of October 1, according to Colonel General Ali Naghiyev, the Chief of Azerbaijan's State Security Service. This announcement was made during the Fourth International Conference held in Azerbaijan under the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the State Security Service has collected and organized biological samples from 11,576 donors to aid in the search operations. The efforts were bolstered by the victory in the Patriotic War and the local anti-terror measures undertaken in 2023, which provided new possibilities for these operations.
Colonel General Naghiyev stated that examinations of the human remains indicate they were subjected to torture, emphasizing the need for these acts to be legally assessed. The ongoing mission, as he affirmed, is to clarify the fate of every missing person.
