Baku:The identities of 334 missing persons from armed conflicts have been established in Georgia. This announcement was made by Georgian State Minister for Reintegration and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani, during the 4th International Conference held as part of the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, The efforts to address humanitarian issues related to missing persons in Georgia began in the early 1990s. During this period, with support from the government and initiatives from families, the remains of 200 missing persons were returned to their families.
These efforts continued under the State Program on Missing Persons, designed to address the consequences of the conflicts in the 1990s and the August 2008 war. Through this program, 334 missing persons were identified and returned to their families. This achievement was facilitated by the constructive participation of all parties involved, adherence to humanitarian principles, and the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Tea Akhvlediani also highlighted the strong relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, emphasizing their strategic partnership and commitment to continued cooperation in humanitarian areas.
