Sumgayit: The remains of Latif Garibali Shahhuseynov, a martyr from the First Karabakh War, have been returned to his family after 33 years, APA reports. A farewell ceremony took place at the family residence in the 42nd neighborhood of Sumgayit city.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, following the ceremony, Shahhuseynov’s remains were interred at the Sumgayit Martyrs’ Alley. Born in 1969 in Sumgayit, Shahhuseynov attended Secondary School No. 29 and later Vocational School No. 41. He was drafted for military service in Volgograd, Russia in 1987, and upon completing his service, he returned home and joined the National Army in June 1992.

During the battles in the Khojavend direction that same year, Shahhuseynov went missing. It was eventually discovered that he had been buried as an unidentified soldier in the cemetery of Daghli village in the Zagatala district.
