Aghdam: The remains of Gurban Ramazan oglu Goyushov, a serviceman who went missing during the First Karabakh War, have been handed over to his family in the settlement of Guzanli, Aghdam. A farewell ceremony for the martyr was held today, attended by family members of martyrs, war participants, district officials, and residents. The remains were laid to rest at the Martyrs' Alley in Guzanli.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Gurban Goyushov was born on June 26, 1974, in the village of Bash Guney, Aghdara district. He was a member of the village territorial self-defense battalion and played an active role in several operations. On March 12, 1992, during the occupation of Azerbaijani-populated villages of Aghdara district by Armenian armed formations, Goyushov fell into an ambush while repelling an attack in the direction of Sirkhavand. His father attempted to evacuate him while he was wounded, but continuous fire prevented the rescue.
Gurban Goyushov's remains were discovered by his relatives at the location where his father had left him after local anti-terror operations.
