Reports Regarding Future Development Trends of Global Cities Released at WUF13

Baku: As part of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, an event themed 'Future Urbanization: How will Your City Change in the Next Decades' took place on May 19. During this event, experts discussed the findings of the UN's 2025 "World Urbanization Prospects" report, which was presented to provide insights into the future development trends of global cities.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the report outlined various challenges faced by cities due to rapid population growth, such as overcrowding and housing shortages. Conversely, it also highlighted the phenomenon of population decline in other urban areas. Experts at the session stressed the intricate relationship between urbanization processes and factors like housing policy, land use, and urban planning. They pointed out the necessity of considering shifting demands and demographic trends to formulate effective strategies for the future development of cities.

The event underscored the importance of strengthening global cooperation to achieve sustainable and inclusive urban development.
