Restoration of Tbilisi-Baku Passenger Trains Praised by Georgian PM

Tbilisi:Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized the significance of the resumed passenger rail service between Tbilisi and Baku, marking an important development for Georgia's transit capabilities.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the full commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, completed a few months ago, has significantly bolstered Georgia's role in international transit. The Prime Minister highlighted the resumption of passenger transportation between Tbilisi and Baku after a six-year hiatus as a key achievement.

He further noted the ongoing efforts to modernize Georgia's railway infrastructure, including the purchase of 200 railcars. Plans are also underway to acquire an additional 200 railcars and introduce around 50 new locomotives to enhance the locomotive fleet in the coming months.
