Baku: '2025 was a very important year in terms of relationship between Azerbaijan and the United States,' Robert Cekuta, former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Cekuta emphasized the significance of the agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, highlighting the efforts both countries made to establish a peace agreement. The U.S. played a crucial role in actively supporting Azerbaijan and Armenia to advance this process. The key event was the agreements reached on August 8th, which showcased creative approaches, particularly through the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), to address the concerns of both nations.
Cekuta also pointed out the growing interest of the United States in Central Asia, with Azerbaijan being a vital part of this region. Azerbaijan's strategic position in the South Caucasus makes it essential to the security of Central Asia and the Middle Corridor.
