Roof Collapse at Baku’s Prison No. 12 Injures One

Baku: Today at 1:10 p.m., the roof of the residential building for prisoners at prison No. 12 collapsed, resulting in one prisoner being injured, according to a statement from the press service of the Ministry of Justice in response to APA’s inquiry.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, no other prisoners serving their sentences at the institution or any members of the institution’s staff were injured during the incident. The authorities have not disclosed the identity of the injured prisoner or the extent of their injuries at this time.

The cause of the collapse is currently under investigation, and officials are assessing the structural integrity of the remaining buildings within the prison complex. The Ministry of Justice has assured that safety protocols are being reviewed to prevent such incidents in the future.
