Ruben Vardanyan Recites Azerbaijani Poetry During Court Appearance

Baku: Ruben Vardanyan, during his court appearance, revealed that he has developed an appreciation for Azerbaijani poetry during his detention spanning over two years. R. Vardanyan shared this personal discovery by reciting a poem by the renowned Azerbaijani poet Mohammad Fuzuli and an excerpt from a poem by Huseyn Javid, both in Russian, before concluding his speech.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the court proceedings are part of a criminal case against Armenian citizen Ruben Vardanyan. He faces charges under articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which include crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, terrorism, and the financing of terrorism, among other serious offenses. The proceedings continued on February 10, where Vardanyan delivered his final statement in court.

Following Vardanyan's statement, the judges retired to deliberate on the verdict.
