Moscow: Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, recently held discussions with Russian Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky. The meeting, reported by APA's Moscow bureau, focused on the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in education and science.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, one of the key topics addressed was the potential establishment of a joint Azerbaijan-Russia university. The meeting also highlighted the increasing interest of Azerbaijani students in pursuing their higher education at Russian universities. As of October 1, 2025, over 10,000 Azerbaijani citizens were enrolled in various higher education programs in Russia, marking an increase from the 9,744 students recorded as of October 1, 2024.
