Moscow: Russia has expressed its gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for supporting the delivery of humanitarian aid to Iran, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing. The aid, which included a substantial consignment of medical supplies, was successfully delivered at the Astara crossing on the Iran-Azerbaijan border.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the delivery on March 27 consisted of more than 300 tons of pharmaceuticals transported by rail and approximately 150 tons of humanitarian aid collected in Dagestan and transported by convoy. Maria Zakharova highlighted the importance of Azerbaijan's assistance in facilitating the aid delivery.
"We are grateful to the Azerbaijani government for its assistance," Zakharova added, emphasizing the collaboration between Russia and Azerbaijan in ensuring the timely and efficient distribution of essential supplies to Iran.
