Russian Ambassador Expresses Gratitude to Azerbaijan for Humanitarian Aid Assistance

Lankaran: Russian Ambassador Mikhail Yevdokimov has expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for its role in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid from Russia to Iran. 'We thank Azerbaijan for assisting in the delivery of humanitarian aid from Russia to Iran,' Yevdokimov stated to journalists, highlighting the cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Russian ambassador emphasized that the operation was efficiently organized. Russian President Vladimir Putin had instructed that medical supplies be sent to Iran at the request of the Iranian government. The decision to have the plane land in Azerbaijan was swiftly approved by President Ilham Aliyev within an hour, demonstrating Azerbaijan's commitment to the humanitarian cause. Yevdokimov extended his gratitude to the Azerbaijani authorities for their prompt assistance and impeccable organization.

The ambassador further mentioned that a total of 13 tons of medical supplies would be transported to Iran. The plane carrying the humanitarian aid landed at Lankaran International Airport, marking a significant step in the collaborative efforts to provide necessary support to Iran.
