Moscow: Zahiraddin Ibrahimov, who was extradited to Azerbaijan, was deprived of Russian citizenship for his illegal actions, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at a briefing today, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Russian legislation does not allow the extradition of a citizen of the Russian Federation to another country. Zakharova clarified that Ibrahimov had previously been deprived of Russian citizenship due to his illegal actions.

Zakharova further mentioned that Zahiraddin Ibrahimov, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was extradited to Azerbaijan upon Baku’s request.
