Baku: The 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress marks a significant milestone in fostering unity among Turkic peoples, as emphasized by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov. In his address to the participants of the Turkic World Week, dedicated to this centenary event, Japarov remarked on the profound impact the Congress has had on the stability, cultural policy, and integration of the Turkic world.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Japarov highlighted that despite complex political and geopolitical challenges, the Congress successfully addressed critical issues concerning Turkic languages, terminology, and future integration. He underscored that the event was not merely an assembly of scholars but a historic turning point for mutual integration and unity among Turkic peoples, who had been separated for centuries due to various external influences. The participation of prominent Kyrgyz, Kazakh, and Bashkortostani scholars in this gathering, with their extensive research on orthography and terminology, was hailed as a significant contribution to the field of Turkology.
Japarov emphasized the importance of the Congress's decisions, particularly in modernizing the writing system and developing common terminology, as they have significantly enhanced solidarity and integration among Turkic nations. This scholarly work has also influenced modern Turkic organizations, leading to the establishment of international bodies such as the Organization of Turkic States, TURKSOY, and the Turkic Academy, thus enhancing political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
Further, President Japarov noted that the Great Turkic Road serves not only as a historical concept but also as a guiding factor for future strategic partnerships. He called for strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, advancing the study of common history and heritage, and promoting Turkic languages in the digital era. In the face of globalization and technological advancements, Japarov expressed confidence that the anniversary celebration would fortify friendships, knowledge exchange, and cooperation among Turkic peoples, ensuring the enduring unity and brotherhood of their nations.
