Baku: An Azerbaijani delegation led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova visited Qatar to express condolences on behalf of the Government of Azerbaijan to Emir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. This gesture followed the passing of the former Emir of Qatar, Father Emir His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis informed APA about the visit.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the delegation traveled to Doha on July 14, where they attended a condolence reception hosted by the Emir of Qatar at Lusail Palace. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova met with the Emir and other officials, conveying condolences on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev and expressing the deep sorrow and respect of the Azerbaijani people.

The Azerbaijani delegation included Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Agrarian Policy and Head of the Working Group on Interparliamentary Relations with Qatar Tahir Rzayev, member of the working group Kamaladdin Gafarov, and other officials. The delegation was received at Doha International Airport by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Qatar Adish Mammadov and other local officials.
