Sahil Babayev: BSTDB Has Preserved the Resilience of the Region

Baku: The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) has preserved the resilience of the region, Sahil Babayev, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the country's Governor at the BSTDB, stated during the opening ceremony of the 28th Annual Meeting of the BSTDB Board of Governors, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Babayev emphasized that holding the meeting in Baku highlights Azerbaijan's close cooperation with the Bank and its commitment to regional cooperation, connectivity, and sustainable development. He noted that the BSTDB's 2025 annual report reflects the resilience of the Black Sea region, with a real GDP growth of 2.9% last year. Additionally, the macroeconomic fundamentals of the member countries were maintained, with nine sovereign credit ratings across six countries being upgraded and no downgrades reported.

Sahil Babayev also mentioned that Azerbaijan is continuing reforms focused on diversifying the economy, strengthening fiscal sustainability, digital transformation, and developing the private sector. He highlighted that through investments in transport and connectivity projects, Azerbaijan is enhancing its strategic position as a bridge between Europe and Asia.
