SCC Clears Over 24,000 Vehicles Through Customs Since Start of Year

Baku: More than 24,000 vehicles have been cleared through customs since the beginning of the year, according to Orkhan Sultanov, an employee of the Main Customs Department for Excisable Goods of the State Customs Committee. The volume of alcoholic beverages subject to excise tax reached 4,440,750.03 liters, while the volume of energy drinks was 3,499,860.72 liters during the reporting period, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News agency, statistics indicate that 24,783 passenger vehicles were processed through customs during the reporting period. Among these, 14,960 were gasoline-powered, 6,815 were hybrid vehicles, 2,526 were diesel-powered, and 482 were fully electric vehicles. The data highlights an increase in the number of environmentally cleaner hybrid and electric vehicles.

Additionally, the import of 2,641 trucks, 1,960 vehicles for other purposes, 723 truck tractors, and 590 trailers subjected to excise tax was recorded. Sultanov also mentioned that a total of 576 applications were submitted to the Main Customs Department for Excisable Goods by citizens and business entities from January to May. The highest number of applications was in January, with 198, followed by 129 in February, 78 in March, 94 in April, and 77 in May.
