SCO Observers Report Calm and Democratic Elections in Azerbaijan

BAKU — The Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) Observation Mission has given a positive assessment of Azerbaijan’s recent snap parliamentary elections, emphasizing their calm and democratic nature.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Nuran Niyazaliyev, Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO, explained during a press conference, that the mission consisted of 16 international observers who were given full access to monitor the elections. "Our observation mission was provided with all the opportunities to observe freely, which is crucial for ensuring the elections are conducted in a democratic and transparent manner," Niyazaliyev remarked, adding that the elections proceeded smoothly without disruptions.
