Baku: Today marks the 5th anniversary of the start of the Patriotic War, APA reports. From the early morning hours, the Second Alley of Martyrs is being visited to commemorate the martyrs of the Patriotic War.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, in connection with the Day of Remembrance, relatives of those who gave their lives for the homeland, government officials, public figures, as well as ordinary citizens, are visiting the cemetery to honor the memory of the martyrs, laying wreaths and flowers at their graves.
The 44-day Patriotic War began on September 27, 2020, resulting in the liberation of Karabakh from occupation. September 27 is marked annually in Azerbaijan as Day of Remembrance. This observance is in deep respect for the soldiers and officers, as well as for all martyrs who fought in the Patriotic War, as established by an order signed by President Ilham Aliyev on December 2, 2020.
