Seven Armenian Nationals Sentenced to Varied Terms in Baku Military Court

Baku: In the ongoing legal proceedings at the Baku Military Court, seven Armenian nationals have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment. The court's verdicts were released as part of the trial concerning the accused individuals, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the court rendered final judgments for these defendants, assigning them prison terms based on the crimes charged. The sentences are as follows: Melikset Pashayan received a 19-year sentence, Garik Martirosyan was sentenced to 18 years, Davit Allahverdiyan and Levon Balayan each received 16 years, while Vasili Beglaryan, Gurgen Stepanyan, and Erik Ghazaryan were each sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment.

The trial focused on charges against these Armenian citizens related to crimes against peace and humanity. These included accusations of war crimes such as the preparation and waging of aggressive war, genocide, and violations of war laws and customs. Additional charges encompassed terrorism, financing terrorism, forcible seizure and retention of power, and other crimes stemming from Armenia's military activities.

The trial commenced on January 17, 2025, and following lengthy proceedings, the judicial panel entered deliberations on December 26.
