Baku: Shahmar Movsumov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department of Economic Issues and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration, has announced that the non-oil sector’s share in Azerbaijan’s economy has reached 81.4%. He made this statement during his address at the ‘Customs-Business Forum 2025: Dialogue and Trust’ in Baku.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Movsumov highlighted the ongoing diversification efforts in Azerbaijan’s economy, which have been a focus for the past two decades. The reforms implemented during this period have enhanced transparency and cultivated a favorable business environment. The steady growth of the non-oil sector is seen as a testament to these efforts.

Movsumov also noted that the expansion of the non-oil sector underscores the effective development of Azerbaijan’s business environment. The country has inked trade agreements with 10 nations, which are expected to broaden global trade opportunities. Additionally, the introduction of a digital customs system has bolstered the performance of the East-West and North-South transport corridors, further integrating Azerbaijan into global trade networks.
