SHAMAKHI – The picturesque village of Meysari in the Shamakhi district recently hosted the Grape and Wine Festival, which concluded this past weekend, as reported by Trend.
According to Trend News Agency, the festival, held on November 25-26, was organized by the State Tourism Agency and the executive power of the Shamakhi region. It attracted a significant number of visitors, both from Shamakhi and the surrounding regions. The event, celebrated for the second time, was marked by numerous bright moments, offering guests an opportunity to indulge in the local culture and heritage of viticulture and winemaking.
The primary objective of the festival was to promote local viticulture and winemaking, with a focus on increasing the export potential of Azerbaijani wine products. It also aimed to educate the public about the history of viticulture and winemaking in Azerbaijan and to showcase the advancements made in this sector.
The event was held at the viticulture and wine-making complex of Shirvan Wines LLC. The festival grounds were divided into various thematic areas, including exhibition, entertainment, children’s, picnic, souvenir sections, and specialized wine and food pavilions. Visitors had the chance to engage in a range of activities, from presentations on viticulture and winemaking to enjoying a fun-filled weekend amidst the scenic beauty of Meysari.
In addition to celebrating grape production and winemaking, the festival also highlighted the tourism potential of Azerbaijan, positioning the country as a destination for oenophiles and cultural enthusiasts alike.
