Baku: Silk Way AFEZCO, a component of the Silk Way Group, has announced a strategic partnership with ExecuJet, a division of the Luxaviation Group, to advance business aviation in Azerbaijan. This collaboration involves two significant projects: the development of a state-of-the-art Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at the new Alat International Airport and the management of a Gulfstream G500 aircraft.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Silk Way AFEZCO and ExecuJet will collaborate on developing a next-generation FBO at Alat International Airport, located strategically south of Baku. Alongside this project, both parties have formalized an Aircraft Management Agreement for the management of Silk Way AFEZCO’s new Gulfstream G500. This agreement marks the Luxaviation Group’s first foray into the Azerbaijani market with the management of the country’s inaugural aircraft of this model.
The partnership also includes a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a joint venture within the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ). The venture aims to establish a comprehensive aviation services hub, enhancing Azerbaijan’s role as a strategic connector between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The Aircraft Management Agreement provides comprehensive support for the Gulfstream G500, covering operations, flight planning, maintenance oversight, and crew management. The G500’s capabilities make it ideal for executive and diplomatic travel from Azerbaijan’s central location.
Construction of the Alat International Airport FBO is slated to begin at the end of 2025, with an expected opening in early 2027. The design will be inspired by ExecuJet’s award-winning flagship facility at Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), known for its excellence in business aviation.
